Puppy Foundations.

6 week program, 2 days a week.  Includes pick up and drop off.

Covers socialization, crate training, and we lay the ground work for 'follow' on leash, basic obedience, and impulse control.

Socialization done early and properly can prevent future behavioral problems later in life and prevent the dog from being fearful of their world. It will help them develop into a well-mannered, balanced, confident and happy companion.

In general, puppies can start puppy socialization classes as early as 7-8 weeks of age. Puppies who are past 20 weeks old will not get the same socialization benefits from this program as the younger pups do as the sensitive socialization window has started closing for them. We do accept puppies past 20 weeks old into the program and place more focus on obedience training, leash skills, counterconditioning and desensitization. Many more repetitions are needed to achieve the same result which means the owners involvement and partnership is key to the success for an older puppy.

Puppies should receive a minimum of one set of vaccines at least 7 days prior to the first class and a first deworming. They should be kept up-to-date on vaccines throughout the class.
